Cleaning Tips for inside you’re Car

Think about you car much? If your answer is no, you’re not alone. Most of us get in our car go to wok, school, the grocery store, or run those daily errands. If you think about it we spend a great deal of time in our cars but a good cleaning is something we tend to forget about or put on that back burner due to more important or pleasurable activities planned. Here are a few tips that should help get that job done. Is your car equipped with cloth seats, door panels, etc? Most look great when new but tend to dirty and stain quicker than your vinyl or leather interiors. A great way to keep fabric interiors looking great is a fabric protector you can purchase at most retail stores or automotive departments in most retail stores. No special skills are needed for application. All that’s involved is the use of a spray can.

You will be happy with your decision when the unbelievable finally happens. One of your friends, family members, or maybe yourself on the go will be eating that favorite fast food and drip, now you have a mustard stain on your seat. Don’t panic, remember your seats are treated with a fabric protector, well it’s not magic but it will help you out a great deal. Even if you don’t treat your upholstery these tips may work for you. Never use a wiping motion to remove the stain as it will only make it larger. With a clean rag dab the stain, try to do this as soon as possible as a dried stain days old will be more difficult or near impossible to remove successfully. But still you may be surprised what you can do; Try a natural detergent cleaner and water PH level should be at a 7 on a scale of 0 to 14. Less would be a higher acid content. The neutral solution will work the best for fabric because it cannot remove your fabric protection or fade out the color, but if that stain is really a pain here’s some other possible cleaners you might consider.

A solution of less potent ammonia with water about (1:5) is an option or even Vinegar, white distilled and water (1:1) mix, also a neutral liquid dishwashing detergent with water (1:20). Remember to always start out with a mild cleaner and work your way to the stronger ones. The tools needed for your task can most likely be found around your home such as a scrub brush with soft bristles, a few towels, a good putty knife (if you don’t have one a spatula may work), and a vacuum, a wet dry vac is preferable. Stains, especially ones that are discovered days, weeks, or possibly even months later will probably be near impossible to get out. Always try to get it as quickly as you can for the best results, and keep in mind there are no guarantees. And if it doesn’t come out completely it might be better than taking no action at all. With other types of car interiors such as vinyl or leather you have a large variety of products to choose from like cleaners and conditioners. You can benefit from some type of protection product for that unexpected stain or spill.
